The hotel’s architectural design comes from KPF, the public areas and guest rooms are mainly designed by MQ Studio, and some restaurants are designed by NAO Taniyama & Associates.
The design of the hotel perfectly interprets the essence of modern hotel design. Through a deep understanding of regional culture and the skillful use of modern design language, a luxurious and comfortable space environment is created. Through the exquisite treatment of space, materials, light and shadow, the designer makes the hotel not only meet functional requirements, but also provide a high-quality lifestyle experience.
The design concept of Grand Hyatt Kunming combines regional culture with modern luxury. By extracting the local natural landscape and combining it with modern hotel design language, the hotel space presents a style that is both modern and has local characteristics. The design concept is based on grandeur and dignity, emphasizing the perfect combination of comfort and function, while incorporating Kunming’s unique natural scenery and cultural heritage, making the hotel both in line with international standards and full of local characteristics.
The overall style of the hotel is luxurious yet elegant. Through the exquisite selection of materials and color matching, a comfortable, warm and luxurious environment is created. The interior space uses a lot of wood veneer, marble, and metal elements. The color tone tends to be warm, combined with soft lighting, reflecting the texture and high-end positioning of the space. The selection and display of furniture also pay attention to unity, with both modern simplicity and oriental charm, and the overall style is harmonious and unified.

The core theme or device of the guest room design language is a symbolic interpretation of the traditional stilted houses in Yunnan. Starting from the room entrance and ending at the mini bar, a series of “pillars” are assembled or kitted to define the different plans or functions of the guest rooms.
The hotel has 331 luxurious residential-style rooms and suites, each of which is carefully designed to combine Yunnan’s traditional aesthetics with modern comfort. The core theme is a symbolic interpretation of Yunnan’s traditional stilted houses. The room types are diverse to meet the needs and preferences of different guest groups.
