Conrad Chongqing to open on August 16, 2024
The hotel was carefully designed by CCD Hong Kong Zhengzhong Design Office, adopting the surrealist “Oriental Hanging City” design concept, drawing on the characteristics of Chongqing mountain city and the natural and historical architectural culture, presenting a unique oriental artistic conception.
The design of Conrad Chongqing Hotel uses a lot of Chongqing’s Republican style and atmosphere, with a large number of dark green marble, shutters, dark wood paneling, brown leather, satin velvet and other materials and elements, deeply integrating the unique geographical characteristics and historical culture of Chongqing. The designer created a space that is both modern and historical by abstracting the topography of Chongqing’s mountain city and recreating the architectural style of the Republic of China.
Chongqing was the capital during the Republic of China period, leaving behind deep historical traces. The design incorporates architectural elements from the Republic of China period, such as antique bricks and wood carvings, and reproduces them through modern techniques, making the space both historical and in line with the aesthetic needs of modern people.
Chongqing is a mountain city, and the close integration of architecture and natural mountains has formed a unique urban landscape. The designer reproduced the close relationship between the city and the mountains by using layered design techniques, creating a “suspended” space experience. This design not only shows the geographical characteristics of Chongqing, but also conveys a three-dimensional and dynamic spatial experience.
The designer has integrated Chongqing’s unique topography and historical culture into the hotel’s design by modernizing it, making the space reveal a strong cultural atmosphere in a modern sense. This design not only respects the cultural heritage, but also gives the entire space a unique cultural connotation.
